My childminding children and I like to take part in many different activities. In a typical week we spend most mornings out of the house.
Monday - go to the park, for a walk, gardening, depending on the weatherTuesday, Wednesday & Friday - various toddler groupsThursday - meet with other childminders and the children in their care - usually at a soft play area and/or Bookstart at the local library or at the main library in townThe afternoons are quieter as, after lunch, the younger ones may have a nap and there is of course the school run.
Locally the soft play areas we like to visit are:
Wacky Warehouse at The Queen B and The White HartGo Wild Adventure PlayKool KidsPlay Place at McDonald'sOn non-school days, we also go on day trips. Our favourites places to visit are:
Old McDonald's Farm Tropical Wings Marsh Farm
Colchester Zoo Sea Life Adventure Thorndon Country Park
Weald Country Park Madison Heights Monkey Puzzle
Danbury Country Park Maldon Promenade Park
One of my favourite days out is to the 3 Foot People Festival, usually held in July in Bell Meadow Park.
During the Easter and Summer school holidays, Chelmsford Borough Council put on Play in the Park - a variety of activities for children of all ages, which takes place in a number of parks in Chelmsford and is lots of fun for both creative and energetic children. They also run courses held at various venues for children of different ages, eg Artful Splodgers, Gymnastics, Movement to Music, Trampolining, to name a few. Details of these events can be found by following this link.
